George Bush Intercontinental Airport

The George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) is an international airport serving the Greater Houston metropolitan area. Located 23 miles from Downtown Houston, it serves as a gateway to a Texan holiday. As the second busiest airport in Texas, it serves flights to a large number of domestic and international locations, including Mexico, Canada, and cities in Europe. The airport has five terminals and 161 gates and is the largest passenger hub for United Airlines. A current expansion project, called the IAH Terminal Redevelopment Program, plans to merge Terminals D and E into one centralized terminal to accommodate increasing passenger numbers. The airport also features several art installations like the "Light Spikes," which make traveling through the airport more colorful.

The best times to visit are during spring and autumn when the weather is pleasant and many festivals are occurring. The summer can be particularly hot, so many locals choose to getaway to escape the heat, which makes this season the least busy and expensive. Winter isn't too cold either.
