Wilmington International Airport (ILM)

Located a short way north of Wilmington, North Carolina, the Wilmington International Airport is your gateway to your vacation in Southwestern NC. The airport contains one terminal for domestic flights; a second terminal is dedicated to international charter flights. First opened in 1928 as Bluethenthal Field, it was later renamed in the 1950s to its current name. These days, its eight passenger gates and two runways served over 1 million annual passengers before the pandemic. In 2018, the airport began an $86 million terminal expansion project. The majority of this project has been finished, but an expansion to the TSA checkpoints is set to be complete in 2022.
